This Drummoyne basement transformation redefines the potential of subfloor living — converting previously unused space into a curated entertainment area. The centrepiece is a custom-designed home cinema, complete with square-set ceilings and an inset custom twinkling star ceiling, suspended within a dark felt backdrop to replicate the night sky. A feature glass wall opens the space to a striking natural sandstone wall, utilising the vibrance of the natural surroundings as a focal point of the renovation.
Adjacent to the cinema, a bespoke wine cellar, created by coring 35 openings into the natural sandstone, completed with frameless glass double doors. Warm parquet flooring and plush carpeting complete the transformation, grounding each space in comfort and luxury as the hallway encroaches to the cinema space.
Materiality and detail extend into the newly constructed bathroom, where full-height marble tiles, a custom stone vanity, and matte black fittings offer a clean, contemporary contrast to the organic textures nearby.
This basement conversion merges craftsmanship with creativity — a subterranean sanctuary that embraces the home’s foundations while introducing a new layer of lifestyle and sophistication.
