Perched in the exclusive coastal suburb of suburb of Bayview, NSW, this project involved the transformation of a complex outdoor space into a refined and highly functional retreat. ArvCorp Construction was engaged to construct a new rear deck suspended over a 15-metre fall—an engineering feat made formidable due to the tight access restrictions not allowing large machinery for the works. This required a custom designed structural steel frame, manufactured in sections that were lowered, bolted, and welded into place. The deck was finished with BRITE composite timber decking used for durability and installed with breaker boards to frame and elevate the look.
A custom-designed steel pergola was installed above the deck, featuring automated shade sails and integrated LED lighting to enhance ambiance throughout the day and into the evening.
The existing pool area was upgraded with natural bluestone travertine coping and paving complemented with new planter boxes, formed using Dincel, poured concrete and acrylic render to frame the space with clean, architectural lines. The interior features a new bathroom, kitchenette, polished blackbutt hardwood flooring, while a Merbau timber arbor and Colorbond roofing to complete the structure. To complement the eco-industrial style of the project and meet fall compliance, this project utilised vertical wire metal balustrades and aluminium handrails provided by Sentrel Aluminium Balustrades to tie the project together.
Toward the front of the property, a tennis court cabana was constructed cantilevering over a rockface, supported by a steel subframe.
